What is Osteopathy

Osteopaths are primary health care providers that recognise that the structure of the body affects how we function on a day-to-day basis.

Osteopathy is a totally natural form of manual medicine, which encourages healing, by focusing on how all the systems within the body communicate with each other.

Osteopaths use a wide range of evaluative techniques to diagnose areas of dysfunction specific to each patient. Osteopathic treatment uses techniques such as stretching and soft tissue massage alongside mobilisation and manipulation of specific joints and soft tissues using direct or indirect techniques.

Both Kate and Martin are registered ACC treatment providers, which means you do not require a referral from your GP to receive ACC covered treatment. Some private health insurers also cover osteopathic treatment.
